Cortland Advisors Announces Acquisition of Nablis

New Combination Forms Full-Service, International M&A consulting Firm that Offers World-Class Consulting for $20-100MM Transactions

Cortland Advisors, LLC, a Mergers & Acquisitions consulting boutique based in the Central Florida area, announced that it has acquired Nablis LLC, a management consulting firm based in Winter Park, FL, to better serve its clients around the world.

The new combined company will operate under the brand name Cortland Advisors, LLC.

The transaction, which was approved by both company’s boards of directors, can now offer small-to-mid-sized clients the full breadth of financial and consulting capabilities to include Pre-Merger Management, M&A Consulting, Post-Merger Divestiture, and Integration Support.

Terms of the private sale were not disclosed.

Ken Taormina, the founder of Cortland and Nablis, will remain with the combined company as its President and Founder.  Cortland’s new Chairman and CEO, Randy Coppersmith, will now manage the combined company. The firm will maintain its primary headquarters in Winter Park, FL, and will also operate out of offices in Washington, DC.  It will continue to operate with its affiliates in Asia and Western Europe.

“We’ve been seeing a need to offer our clients, especially International clients, better pre- and post-M&A support,” said Taormina. “Both Cortland and Nablis have been growing, and had established a good working relationship,” he said. “It just made sense to combine the two companies.”

“As Cortland has grown over the last six months, it became evident we needed more infrastructure to support our growing client base,” said Coppersmith. “Helping clients prepare for a liquidity event, or a major acquisition, is an important part of what we do. We help clients with critical information gathering so they can make the best decisions when buying or selling a business.”

“By adding the Nablis team, we can now better offer clients an end-to-end consulting experience, from acquisition or divestiture planning, to due diligence and preparation of prospectus and marketing — all the way through a buying or selling process,” said Taormina.
