As the founder and CEO of Innov8 Consulting and several start-up companies in the neuro/spine surgical space, Habeel has been involved in the life sciences innovation field for the last 10 years. His direct experience in medical technologies includes the areas of neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and other specialties. In his career, Habeel has had first-hand experience with product development from concept through to manufacturing and securing FDA clearance and intellectual property.
In addition to his work with medical devices, Habeel is a member of the Florida Medical Manufacturing Consortium as well as the BioFlorida leadership team for the Central Florida Chapter, an industry association that represents more than 6000 life sciences companies in the state of Florida.
Prior to his involvement in the medical device industry, Habeel was a subject matter expert on virtualization technologies and has authored dozens of papers, benchmark reports, and vendor assessments targeted at a membership of 25,000 CIOs of small to midsized companies.
Habeel’s academic background and commitment to philanthropy have shaped him into a deeply passionate individual. Habeel is a mentor in the National Science Foundation (NSF) I-Corps program at the University of Central Florida. Also, he has served on the board of the then newly created Biomedical Engineering program at the Florida Institute of Technology from 2013-2017. Habeel completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University in Canada.
