Michael O’Connor has been in Washington, DC since 1976. Sent to Washington by the late Mayor of Chicago, Richard J. Daley, he became the Director of Contracts and Grants for the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), an organization composed of state and local government agencies. He was responsible for the development and administration of all federal grant programs that involved NIGP, specializing in governmental procurement policy.
He is the founder of O’Connor & Fierce, a well-regarded K Street consulting company. He is also the founder and CEO of FSG, a Federal Contracting company. FSG is a Cortland client company.
Michael is a graduate of Loyola University. He is also past chairman of the Oatlands Foundation and sits on several other non-profit boards. He lives in Leesburg, VA
