Joan Beitel has over 30 years of experience in banking and corporate finance, including the last 15 years in the Federal Government Sector.  In her previous role, she was the Corporate Secretary and Controller of Intercom Federal Systems.  Belcan acquired Intercom Federal in 2016.  She also has extensive M&A experience in both due diligence, corporate compliance management and financial audit support.  Today, she is a senior consultant at Cortland Advisors, where she manages and performs quality assurance of financial, operational, and corporate internal functions for several U.S. Federal Government services clients.  Joan has deep experience as an accounting controller, with over 15 years’ designing and managing all financial operations in compliance with DCAA guidelines.  Joan is also certified as a Facility Security Officer, with over 10 years’ experience.  Joan began her career as a banker, working for over 15 years with Bank of America.  She is a graduate of George Mason University with a BS in Accounting.  She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, Billy.
