Jacob Mahaffey brings more than 14 years of experience across venture capital, private equity, and technology commercialization, with a focus on driving growth and facilitating strategic transactions. He has supported the deployment of more than $500M of capital and worked with founders, investors, family offices, and health systems on investment, commercialization, and value creation initiatives.

Jacob advises business owners, executive teams, and investors on growth strategy, operational improvement, and transaction readiness. His experience includes more than 400 technology commercialization projects and over 50 startup companies across the U.S. and Europe, with a focus on preparing organizations for capital raises, partnerships, acquisitions, and long-term scaling.

Jacob recently served as Director of the Institute for Emerging Technologies at Saint Francis Health System, where he led the evaluation and implementation of innovative technologies and partnered with executives, venture-backed companies, and strategic stakeholders to drive operational improvement and measurable financial outcomes.

Previously, he was a Partner at Marabek and an Advisor to Sutton Capital, supporting deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio growth initiatives, as well as capital deployment strategies through U.S. Department of the Treasury’s State Small Business Credit Initiative programs.

Earlier in his career, Jacob served as Assistant Director of Cowboy Technologies at the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Research Foundation, where he supported technology commercialization, venture formation, and seed-stage investing. He has founded three medical technology companies, is an inventor on multiple patents, and focuses on advising on commercialization, fundraising, and strategic transactions across healthcare, life sciences, and technology sectors.

Jacob has a broad sector focus including healthcare, life sciences, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing.
