Ken Taormina is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Cortland Advisors LLC. He brings tremendous depth in career experiences in M&A, Private Equity and Company restructuring. Ken brings the right balance of corporate experience with his ability to call upon his vast network of Corporate, Private Equity, and Board relationships for Cortland’s clients. In this role, Ken provides his expertise in the life-cycle process of client engagements to include client initiation, strategy, branding, development, and execution for buyers and sellers. In his career, Ken has been the lead architect in the creation, development, and growth in Consulting, Manufacturing, Automotive, Logistics Aerospace, Software Products, Enterprise Information Systems, and Digital Industrial Organizations. His clients have included, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Caterpillar, GE Medical, Stanley Black and Decker, Ford, GM, Fiat Chrysler, Boeing, Airbus, Petrobras, Oracle, Microsoft, Dupont, Motorola, 3m, Cisco, Pratt &Whitney, BMW, VW, Siemens and Hyundai among others.

 

He has run operations for his clients while living across the U.S., Europe and Asia and is very familiar with the global manufacturing supply chain and its many challenges. In 2013, Ken founded Cortland Advisors to provide leadership and business guidance to both Private and Private Equity companies globally. In 2015-2016, for a large Private Equity client, Ken took on the role of Chief Growth Officer of a $700M Engineering Services Company in the Manufacturing and Aerospace market to restructure their Sales, Marketing and New Business Strategy, and drive their M&A of three companies to include a Cyber Security Company, Software Integration Company, and an Automatic Test Equipment firm. For another large PE firm in 2014 he was a key PE Managing Executive in the due diligence, acquisition, and execution of the restructuring of 5 software and services companies in the US and Europe. Previously Ken led Accenture’s Products Mobility Business and developed Accenture’s “Connected Vehicle Business”, a $225M business in Automotive IoT. He also developed and led Accenture’s Digital Engineering Services business where he was responsible for the P&L, strategy, M&A, marketing, and delivery services to Aerospace, Manufacturing, and Natural Resource companies. Prior to Accenture, Ken was SVP Global Manufacturing Industry a $500m business at Mahindra Satyam, where he led Industrial M&A, developed their state-of-the-art, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing and engineering centers of excellence in the U.S. and India.

 

Ken held other senior executive leadership roles at KPMG Consulting, Oracle, Raytheon, and GE.

 

Ken holds a B.A. in Public Administration from Georgetown University and a Masters in Information Systems at the American University. He attended both the Executive training program at the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business and GE’s Executive Management Training Program at Crotonville, New York. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Manufacturing twice and has been an elected board member of several public and private technology companies. He also served in the military as a US Army Officer in the US and Overseas.
